Project Summary:
Collective funding of the creation of a laboratory for secondary education, preparation of seven new classrooms and reduction of paper use at the Saint Philip's British school in Linares (Jaén).
Positive impact:
Improvement of the educational environment and the educational offer of Saint Philip's British School, as well as optimization of the use of paper to improve the environmental impact of the activity we develop.
Project description:
Saint Philip's was born educationally the 2014/2015 course with two proposals:
On one side a British College, the only one in the province of Jaén, where the curriculum is taught in England and Wales.
On the other hand a Vocational Training Center, with an offer of training courses of medium and higher grade.
At present the British school has approximately 100 students and vocational training with approximately 150 students.
At the beginning of the 2015/2016 school year, Saint Philip's launched an English Academy for students not enrolled in the British College.
Looking at the beginning of the next course, in September 2017, these new features are presented in the project:
Online training in English has been started, mainly for teenagers and adults who want to prepare the Cambridge exams in a non-presential way.
The activities of afternoon in the center are enhanced, creating a Sports Club, with football, tennis, basketball and golf. There are also workshops on programming and robotics, crafts and other activities designed for students between 5 and 14 years. All these activities will be open to any non-British student.
A new cycle of the average degree of the health family has been introduced in the catalog of training cycles, with an offer of 60 places per academic year (the cycle is carried out in two academic courses).
In the British School, the course equivalent to 1º of ESO is created.
Description of investments:
For all this growth, Saint Philip's College plans to make the following investments:
Creation of a laboratory for secondary and high school education: furniture and all the equipment of physics, chemistry and biology.
Complete conditioning of seven new classrooms: interactive whiteboard with projector, computer for the teacher, classroom wiring for broadband connection, furniture for 25 students (school), 30 students (cycles) and 15 students ( Academy), and air conditioning equipment for each classroom.
Creation of a biometric signature system that will drastically reduce the use of paper in the project, with the environmental impact it will entail. All the contracts become digital and we will replace the traditional agendas with an app that will allow us to communicate with the parents not only at the end of the day but also in a dynamic way in any of the activities that students develop during the school year. / P>
