Project summary:
Collective financing (crowdlending) for the replacement of a diesel boiler with a biomass boiler, for the "Palai de Gèu" sports and amusement center from Vielha (Val d'Aran, Spain). This project drastically reduces the heating bill of the company by 20% and will enable reducing CO2 emissions in the atmosphere by about 767 tonnes annually.

The company AUTÉNTICA GENERACIÓN DISTRIBUIDA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN, S.L. (AGDCL) has installed a 500 kW industrial biomass boiler, model LASIAN “Biocompact 500 frontal” for the "Palai de Gèu" a large covered sports and amusement center in Vielha (Val d'Aran, Spain), replacing the previous diesel boiler which will be maintained in place for maintenance or in case of breakdown of the new boiler. The boiler is installed in an outdoor thermal container, with cyclone to prevent the emission of particles, automatic ash collection, electronic control systems and hoppers, and is accompanied by a 46 m3 silo ready to store 30 tons of pellets . The installation is completed with valves, pumps, a hydraulic expansion vessel, hydraulic installation and electrical installation.
The covered public sports center in which the biomass boiler is installed, placed up in the Pyrenees, needs a constant heating system almost all year long and has appointed AGDCL to provide and guarantee this service. The boiler will consume an estimated 600 tons of pellets per year, based in the historical spenditure of 300,000 litters of oil yearly.
The total cost of the new installation is €121.176 (+ VAT). The crowdlending campaign is set to finance 50% of the installation.
The installation will produce 20% saving on the cost of heating for the company, based on 2014 figures of oil consumption.
The CO2 emissions of the public sports center will be reduced by approximately 767 tons per year, thanks to the quasi full elimination of its oil consumption
The public sports center "Palai de Gèu" has signed a 6 years contract with AGDCL for the provision of pellets, at constant price and quality. Furthermore, AGDCL will handle all preventive and corrective maintenance of the installations, with a 24 X 7 emergency service all year long.
Guaranties of the collective loan:
The loan has a personal guarantee from AUTÉNTICA GENERACIÓN DISTRIBUIDA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN, S.L as well as 50% of the financed installations.
